If you are experiencing issues with sending or receiving emails, the steps below should help to resolve the issue.
Use the website version
In some cases, we suggest using the actual URL or website version of an email application. It can be an inconvenience, but we have noticed that using the website version of an email app tends to solve the issue more times than not.
For example, if you are using the Outlook email app, please close Outlook, disconnect the app, connect to the VPN, and go to the web version here.
Bypass the VPN for the email client
If you're unable to send or receive emails even when using the web version, or you would rather use the email application, something you can try is bypassing the VPN for your email client.
To do that, click on the Gear icon in the upper-left of the UltraVPN app.
Next, scroll down to Split Tunneling and activate Bypass VPN, then click on the arrow below it to add your email client.
Search for your email client and click on +Add to add it to the list of apps to bypass.
Once you have added the email application, reconnect to the VPN.
Bypass the website of the email provider
If the above does not work, there is a third thing to try. First, go to the web version of the app and copy the URL. Next, go to the Bypass VPN setting in the UltraVPN app. Instead of adding an app, this time you'll want to click on +Add next to Add website.
You'll be prompted to add the URL of the website you want to add. Paste the URL of the email provider you want to bypass and click on +Add.
Once you have added the URL of your email provider, reconnect to the VPN.
Lastly, if the issue continues, please email us with the app you are trying to use and the Virtual Location you are connecting to. You can submit a request here. Thank you.
